Registration Procedures

Information contained within this forum is intended for FOP 88 members ONLY. Therefore, registration and approval are REQUIRED to access the secure areas. This forum is administered locally and any information requested during the registration process is kept confidential. Approval should be granted within 24 hours of application.

During the registration process, you will need to create a username. Usernames CANNOT be changed, so make sure you really like the one you choose! After your registration request is approved, you will be able to upload an avatar (small icon/picture), add a signature, and add additional personal information. Default settings hide ALL personal information and will only be displayed by user choice.

Registration requirements:

* You MUST have an email account to register. During the registration process, you will receive an email stating that your registration request is pending for approval. Approval should occur within 24 hours of application. Once approved, you will receive a follow-up notification advising that your account has been activated.

* You will have to create a USERNAME. The username can be anything you choose, with some discretion. Usernames cannot be duplicated, so if you enter a username already chosen, you will immediately be advised to select a new one. Members are only allowed one username.

* Your FIRST and LAST names are REQUIRED. This aids in the verification process. We obviously know the names of our members, so registration requests with false names will not receive a response and the email account used will be banned for any future registration attempts.

* Your AGENCY name is REQUIRED. Within the forum is an agency area where only members from that agency can access. During the approval process, you will be granted permission to access your agency area.

* Your Badge number, PIN number, ID number, etc is OPTIONAL. However, this information will also assist with the verification process. If you are retired, still include your number.

YOU WILL NEVER BE ASKED FOR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, HOME ADDRESS, SSN, ETC. If you receive such a request from this forum, contact the forum Administrator at webmaster@fop88.org or any officer of the Executive Board via phone IMMEDIATELY. Such a request would indicate that the forum has been compromised or hacked by a non-member.
